Hi, I’m Barb,- Welcome to my page

I’m still only a baby really!. My mom says that although I’m 2 1/2 years old I’m still just a big

puppy that’s growing into her body!

Barb is a 2 1/2 old, 65 pound, New Zealand Huntaway; a herding breed. So she is extremely active and hard to keep from running around and bumping into things. She is much like a gawky teenage boy or girl. She trips, slips, and then pays for it because she gets pains in her wrists and knees much like kids do in their knees when they have growth spurts.

She benefits from massage in many ways. First, as a puppy, massage helps in socialization to human touch. This is critical for many reasons.

One very good reason is if your dog gets loose, she/he would not be afraid of someone trying to rescue him/her off the streets. Second, massage helps to relieve the stress placed on her joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments that get out of balance with her gawky movements and her missteps that lead to slips, falls, and incorrect jumping technique.

Moreover, as you can see from the picture, she is trying to keep up with her border collie sisters and massage calms her after she gets overstimulated when trying to keep up.

Barb is very lucky because she has excellent structure. However, many large breed dogs are not made for some of the activities that they participate in so they will benefit in helping to maintain structural balance.
