Hi, I’m Bob!
Hi there! I am Bob. I am an 11 year old Golden Retriever. How do you like my toothy smile?
I am a very special girl! I recently completed my MACH 20. That is a Master Agility Championship, for the TWENTITH time. I have been invited to the AKC Agility Invitational 5 times and been a finalist once To get this invite I have averaged over 40 weekends a year of agiility competition! I have done more agility in one year than most dogs do in a lifetime! I also have many, many other titles, including a Utility title in obedience, a tracking title and have also got my Century Fast title, which is 100 Master Fast scores.
Dr. Robert Richardson of Campus Commons Vet Hospital in Sacramento performed a Triple Pelvic Osteotomy on my left hip (the worst) that very afternoon. This procedure is when the pelvis is cut in three places and rotated to that the head of the femur fits in to the hip socket more deeply. The pelvis is then plated and screwed back together. My right hip was done one month later.
With the help of Sarah Johnson and my mom’s diligence, I began rehabilitation program that consisted of water work, treadmill work, hiking in all conditions. During that time and to the present, I saw Dr. Leslie Phillips for chiropractic and acupuncture at least once a month. When I was 4, I started getting massages from Linda every day of every competition. Sometimes they were pre competition and sometimes post. I have been blessed with great vets and body workers. I also believe that I must have good genes because most dogs would not have been able to enjoy agility for so many years with hip dysplasia as severe as mine.
